House of Assembly-Elect for Onna state constituency in Akwa Ibom State, Otuekong Nse Essien has assured that members of the People’s Democratic Party who jettisoned the party for the All Progressives Congress APC will inevitably run back to the party in 2019.

Nse Essien made this declaration at his residence in Uyo after he was issued his certificate of return by the state Independent National Electoral Commission to represent Onna state constituency in the fifth assembly.

The obviously elated lawmaker-elect said “The people who made PDP to lose will come back to PDP and APC will be where they are supposed to be in 2019.

“Everybody understands that Akwa Ibom state is a PDP state. PDP is like a religion here and that is the truth. The basis of our being politically is PDP, the development we have recorded in this state is through PDP. So, we have got no reason to leave.”

He promised to work assiduously towards enhancing development in his constituency, adding that priority attention will be given to education and health care.

“I went round the 42 villages of Onna local government and I know that my people need schools, a lot of which are dilapidated and by the grace of God, I have a Governor who is from my local government and who is also somebody who is going to do a lot for Akwa Ibom state.

“We need hospitals, good health facilities, we need education at a standard level, so that people can afford school fees, people can afford money for JAMB. Education is the bedrock of any society and so if children are well trained educationally, they will be able to take care of themselves tomorrow and so by the grace of God we are going to the House of Assembly to make good laws that will have direct impact on the people.”

He further said that he hopes to actualize his goals for his constituency by working closely with Governor-Elect and his kinsman, Udom Emmanuel and members of the fifth Assembly.

He expressed his confidence in the incoming Assembly as he said that the house is going to be vibrant because of the caliber of intelligent men and women that have been elected to represent the 26 constituencies of the state.

On the state government’s indebtedness, Nse Essien said ‘’there is no other way if we owe we must definitely pay, there is no government that has never owed. Government is a continuum,Governor Akpabio must have inherited debt from Governor Attah’’
