Ben Murray-Bruce said Ubah’s “contributions to our nation, both in the oil sector and public service, will never be forgotten”

Former lawmaker and business magnate, Ben Murray-Bruce, has confirmed the death of Anambra Senator,  Ifeanyi Ubah.

TheNiche had earlier reported that Ubah died in London, where he had gone to catch some rest ahead of the battle for 2025 Anambra governorship election.

Breaking the news via the Anambra First WhatsApp platform, where Ubah was a prominent member, Dr Uche Nworah, a close associate of the senator wrote:

“Good morning all

“On behalf of Admin, we mourn the passing of a foundation member of Anambra First, Distinguished Senator @⁨+234 909 665 5596⁩, Senator representing Anambra South.

“We spoke to close family and political associates who confirmed that Ebubechukwuzo Nnewi died in London.

“Further announcement from the family will be shared here. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.”

Reacting to the news of Ubah’s demise, Murray-Bruce took to his X to pay  tribute to the late Anambra lawmaker.

He tweeted: “With a heavy heart, I extend my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

“His contributions to our nation, both in the oil sector and public service, will never be forgotten.

“May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find strength during this difficult time.”

Ubah who won election on the ticket of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) last year.

The cause of death of the 52-year-old is still unclear as at the time of filing this report.
