The only goal of the match came towards the end of the first half when Ben Chilwell scored a beautiful volley inside the home side’s penalty box in the 46th minute.

It was all Brentford in the second half, as the home side put the rearguard of the visitors under all sorts of pressure but Chelsea keeper, Edouard Mendy, was in inspiring form.

The Bees had a total of 7 shots on target and 9 shots in total, but Chelsea scored from its only shot on target, having had 4 shots throughout the game.

The Blues defended resolutely against waves and waves of attack from Brentford towards the end of the game but held on to win 1-0.

Chelsea’s win sends them back to the summit of the Premier League with 19 points, they are closely followed by Liverpool who has 18points while Man City occupies the third position with 16 points.
