Bello preaches peace at Niger warring communities

The Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abubarkar Sani Bello, has warned that the government would deal with anyone or groups who are not law-abiding.

Bello advised people to live together and also device conflict resolution mechanism that is inclusive, just, fair and mutually beneficial to all parties.

The governor spoke during his visit to Yadna village, Garatu ward in Bosso Local Government Area where communal clash claimed four lives.

He advised the warring communities that peace remains the best alternative in any dispute.

He expressed displeasure over the unfortunate incident whereby people kill one another and assured that full investigation would be conducted and all those found wanting would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Governor Bello who however expressed the need for the warring communities to continue to live in peace and harmony, stressed the need for them to desist from taking the laws into their hands and report any incident to the appropriate authorities.

“It is unfortunate that people are taking laws into their hands. This community in the last two days has been misled by rumour and speculations. I am here personally to see the true situations of event. We are on top of the situation, and we are collaborating with security agencies to ensure that such incident does not occur again”.

Bello enjoined traditional rulers in the state, particularly the village Heads and community leaders in the area to synergize with security agencies in maintaining law and order in their respective domains.
