Timini Egbuson, the Movie producer and actor, said he was never cut out for white-collar jobs, but crime was never on the card

Nigerian actor and digital creator. Timini Egbuson, said he knew he was too restless to do a white-collar job when he left University of Lagos.
The movie producer disclosed this during a chat as a guest on ‘Tea with Taymesan’s podcast’.
According to The 34-year-old actor, the fact that he was too restless to do a regular job, drove him into the movie industry.

He noted that at the time, criminally oriented jobs like ‘Yahoo’ were the order of the day, but it never crossed his mind because he was too scared to go to jail.
In his words;
“I knew I was not going to do 9-5 because I am very restless. I knew that this waking up in the morning being in traffic, won’t be what it will be. So I started to look for alternatives, I knew I was not going to do ‘Yahoo’.
“I can’t be in a Police station or be in a cell. A lot of people at that time were going into that. Sometimes, guys will tell you, won’t you carry a laptop? “
Timing also said his sister, Dakore, who is also an actress, tried to dissuade him from joining Nollywood because it is not lucrative.
“This one you are going to movie sets, Dakore used to tell me at the time. She will say, there is no money in Nollywood. What will you be doing?”
He concluded by saying his route to the movie industry and building himself as a brand was more of divine intervention than a strategic plan.
“That’s why from the beginning it might seem like it was strategic, but it was more of a divine direction that I got from God to make sure that I am building a brand as well that people want to see.
“What these other guys don’t understand is that you can’t only be a good actor, you have to be a marketable brand”. He added.
Timini Egbuson started his acting career in 2010, on M-net’s soap opera Tinsel, but has since gone on to become a movie producer and a digital content creator.
