BBNaija’s Rachel advocates criminalising asking wives for DNA tests

Rachel also argued that demanding a DNA tests showed lack of trust, adding that such couples shouldn’t have tied the knot

Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) star, Rachel Edward has shared her opinion on the  controversy surrounding couples taking the DNA tests in Nigeria. 

She was responding to reports that some Nigerians on social media were advocating that DNA tests should be made compulsory given the rising cases of paternity fraud in the country.

A lot of Nigerian men have in recent times, have opened up on how they trained their kids for several years only to discover that their wives had the kids for other men, notably among these instances is the case of popular comic actor, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel aka Nedu.

However, reacting to the call via her verified X handle, Rachel suggested that demanding a DNA test from a spouse should be considered a criminal offence.

The former BBNaija housemate went on to argue that such demand showed lack of trust, adding that such couple shouldn’t have tied the knot in the first place.

Speaking via her social media page, she tweeted: “Asking your wife for a DNA test should be a criminal offence. If you don’t trust her, why marry her in the first place?”
