Big Brother Naija (BBanaija) reality star and popular podcast host, Doyin, has advised single ladies to prioritise their financial independence over falling in love, waking down the aisle or raising kids.
She gave the advice recently on her Snapchat page, where she also asserted that a woman who doesn’t have money isn’t ready for marriage or having kids.
The controversial reality star went on to say that the biggest mistake a woman can make while taking life determining decisions is to choose to “depend completely” on a man.
She further added that she refuses to depend on the benevolence of men, stressing that she wants the protection, power, and security that comes from having her own money.

She, however, said she was only giving her perspective and approach to life and does not expect every woman to follow her lead.
Speaking via her verified social media handle, Doyin said: “The biggest mistake you can make as a young lady is depending completely on a man. Attaining independence should be the first thing on your mind… before love, marriage, or kids. Money first!
“If you don’t have your own money, a reasonable amount of money saved up, you’re NOT ready for marriage and most definitely NOT ready to have kids. You need your own money!!
“With all I refuse humility, I refuse for the quality of my life to be dependent on the benevolence of men. I want the protection, power, and security that comes with having my own money. But like I said in the beginning, that’s just me! To each his own!”
