Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) ex-housemate, Uriel Oputa has clarified that veteran singer and activist, Charles Oputa aka Charly Boy is her cousin.
Uriel, who had in the past referred to the activist as his uncle, made this known recently while sharing a post revealing how the singer has been taking her through crazy workout routines at the gym.
According to the reality star, the Area Fada, as Charly Boy is fondly called, is her cousin, even though she calls him uncle.

She also revealed that she lived with him when she first moved back to Nigeria from the United Kingdom.
Sharing photos from their workout session, Uriel captioned her post: “The Oputas. I bet you didn’t know @areafada1 is my amazing cousin❤️ lived with him when I first moved bk to Nigeria omo Uncle Charles be showing me crazy workouts ooooo. I’m tired biko!!”
After the post made the rounds online, internet users trooped to the comment section of the post to hail Charly Boy for working out at his age and urged Uriel to start calling him cousin rather than uncle.
An IG user, estianacakesandmore wrote: “You see exercise, I cannot joke with it, just look at Charleboy 70 abi 70 plus old man.”
Another netizen, iam_chynwa said: “Tell uncle Charles to age forward na what in the name of aging backward is this.”

Another netizen, ritas_voice said: “If he’s your cousin, why are you then calling him Uncle Charles?”
