Big Brother Nigeria season 5 ‘Shine Ya Eye’ second runner up, Pere Egbi, has denied the rumours making the rounds on social media that he is involved romantically with the wife of Kogi state Governor, Rashida Bello.

Pere made the denial while responding to a tweet by a Nigerian US-based journalist Jackson Ude who allegedly claimed that there is a rumour being peddled in Abuja, that the Nollywood star, Pere and the Kogi State First Lady, Rashida are dating.

He went on to say they were seen together several times at Hilton Hotel in Abuja and added that Rashida, the wife of the All Progressives Presidential Party (APC) presidential aspirant, Yahaya Bello, gave Pere N5 million when they started the relationship.

Ude wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “Why is #BBNaija Pere Egbi all over the place with Kogi First Lady, Rashida Bello? Gist around Abuja says that they are lovers. Egbi and Mrs Bello are said to have been sighted severally at the Hilton Hotel, Abuja. The gist is that when they first met, First Lady gifted Egbi N5 million.”

Reacting to the claim via his official Twitter handle on Tuesday, May 31, the thespian debunked the innuendos that he and the Kogi State First Lady are in a romantic relationship

Describing the rumour as a “demonic lie”, the 35-year-old reality star threatened a lawsuit against Ude, who wrote the report on Twitter, and those retweeting it.

He also said he would pursue legal action against the journalist both in Nigeria and in the United States where he resides.

“For the records, the publication about me and the First Lady of Kogi State is a demonic lie and a figment of a diseased imagination of Jackson Ude and those retweeting that rubbish

“They must answer me in court both in Nigeria and in the United States of America where he is based.” Pere tweeted.
