Who gets what endorsement deal has become the preoccupation of the fans of BB Naija ex-housemate, especially those of season five, which is the lockdown edition.
Depending on who their idol is, the fans belong to different groupings and call themselves some fanciful title which rhyme with the names of their stars.
In the season five episode of the BB Naija, the most vocal fans are those of Erica, Nengi and Dorathy.
Nengi fans for instance call themselves Ninjas, Erica supporters go with the name Elites, while Dorathy’s crew simply prefer to be identified as the Dorathy fans. And every time any of their idols clinch an endorsement deal, even when such is from a small brand, they make so much noise of it.
When in December last year, Deshapeables, a weight-loss costume company announced Erica as its brand ambassador, the Elite, as her fans are called, almost shutdown Twitter. They remained in the trend of the social media app for some days.
The Ninjas were the loudest in celebrating the endorsement deals of their idol, who is the brand ambassador for Remy Martins, Jenny’s Glow, Deshapeables and Lucious hair.
Dorathy fans now have something to celebrate too. Their hero, Dorathy, is now the brand ambassador of London shoe ratail company in Nigeria, urbanvibeslondon.com.
The fans have dominated twitter with their praise of Dorathy and ensuring that the word ‘Congratulations Dorathy’ remains a top trend in Nigeria.
