Bayer Leverkusen CEO, Fernando Carro, has admitted that Xabi Alonso could join Spanish giants, Real Madrid in the near future.
Alonso, who recently won the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen was heavily tipped to join Bayern Munich or Liverpool in the summer.
However, the former Spain midfielder opted to stay with the freshly-crowned Bundesliga champions ahead of next season.

Diario AS recently, Carro said the Leverkusen manager may not be able to say no to Real Madrid when they come for him.

He went to suggest that he is likely to join a club he once played for after leaving the German champions.
Carro said: “It’s possible that Xabi Alonso will become Real Madrid manager one day, yes.
“Many clubs want Alonso, maybe one day he can work for one of them, especially those where he used to play, but he’s happy here now, that’s why he’s staying.
“Release clause? It’s a confidential matter between us.”
