Bayelsa state Independent Electoral commission ( BYSIEC ) says Saturday, August 10, 2019 slated for the local government election is sacrosanct as all arrangements for the conduct of the election has been completed .
Diepreye Dede, the commissioner in charge of Media and Publicity stated this in Yenagoa on Tuesday.
According to him, the electoral commission has concluded the distribution of sensitive and non sensitive materials to all the pooling units, trained all ad – hock staff , all party agents have been trained and to refresh their brains, a group known as Vote Counts will be in the state to further give them futher training on how to conduct the elections.
About 40 political parties are contesting , just as he disclosed that all litigation both in Yenagoa and Abuja courts have been settled in the commission’s favour and there is no need for panic.
He therefore enjoined all Bayelsans to go out en mass to exercise their franchise without any fear as security has been beefed up to protect and secure life and property during the forthcoming local government elections.
He said all the commission staff are expected to be neutral umpire and would be ready to declare results produced from the pooling units.
