Bayelsa guber: Group canvanses for peace in Niger Delta

Ahead of the November 6 governorship election in Bayelsa State, a non-governmental organization, South South Peace Mission, has embarked on sensitization against pipeline vandalism, cultism, violence and electoral violence and other social ills in the South South of Nigeria .

Speaking to journalists before a rally in Yenagoa, its national President /Founder, Ambassador Ebiemie Makera Mighty JP, said that they were collaborating with governments, traditional rulers, companies and other agencies to ensure there was peace in Edo, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Cross Rivers states.

  He said that the group was poised to drastically reduce and if possibly to bring to a grinding halt the proliferation of horrible, intimidating, obnoxious and menace prevalence and all forms of social vices including hooliganism, cultism, armed robbery, sea piracy, kidnapping, pipeline and oil well vandalism and insurgency .

  He said, “We say one love and say no to violence, peace is the answer”.
