Bayelsa APC cautions Sylva’s associate over alleged attack on Buhari

Consequent upon a media publication in one of the National Dailies alleging that President Muhammadu Buhari has abandoned Bayelsans in the scheme of things with regards to recent Ambassadorial nominees list, the Bayelsa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on an associate of Chief Timipre Sylva, Mr Bolous Indiamowei, to restrain his followers from publicly attacking President Muhammadu Buhari over appointment matters.

The Bayelsa APC in a press statement signed by its secretary, Daniel Marlin and made available to journalists at the weekend in Abuja, stated that “Our attention is drawn to statements credited to one Mr Bolous Indiamowei in a recent Vanguard publication. The statements allege that Buhari has abandoned Bayelsans in the scheme of things as regards federal appointments with focus on the recent Ambassadorial nominees list.”

According to the statement, “Mr Bolous Indiamowei joined the APC only after Buhari’s victory with the sole aim of supporting Chief Timipre Sylva’s governorship campaign. Like every fresh member, he is welcomed, but he is neither a chieftain nor a stakeholder of our party, therefore, he cannot speak for APC Bayelsa state.”

The Bayelsa APC however said “We wish to advice Chief Timipre Sylva to restrain his followers from publicly attacking President Muhammadu Buhari over appointment matters. Mr Indiamowei is only one of several supporters of Chief Sylva to have made unbecoming statements over appointment matters. And it is imperative to note that this very man did everything he could to ruin the election of President Muhammadu Buhari, what rights has he now to dictate to Mr President?”

Mr. Merlin maintained that Bayelsa State has not and will not be shortchanged in federal representation.
