The Bauchi State government is to collaborate with the Startimes group for digitalisation of the state-owned media outfits.

This was disclosed by Special Assistant to the state governor on Communications, Shamsuddeen Lukman Abubakar, in a statement in Bauchi.

He explained that the agreement was struck in China during the visit of the state Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.

According to him, the state governor met with the President of Startimes Group, Mr. Pang Xin Xing, to discuss and sign the agreement between the group and the Bauchi State government.

He said that the representatives of the two sides attended the meeting held at the Startimes Headquarters in Beijing.

He stated further that important collaborative issues were discussed at the meeting including the proposed digitisation of the state-owned  Bauchi State Television Authority (BATV ) and the  Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC).

He explained that the motive of the collaboration with the Startimes was to improve the state-owned media in line with the digital revolution.

“We are seeking the collaboration of Startimes because we want to bring our state-owned media outlets back to life. This would improve the quality of content and information our media platforms produce, and ultimately create jobs in the media, technology, and other sectors” he said.‎
