Basketmouth in September celebrated his wife’s 44th birthday anniversary but failed to mention their wedding anniversary in November

Popular Nigerian stand-up comedian and actor, Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, on Thursday, December 22, announced he has separated from his wife, Elsie Okpocha.
The comic actor, who has been married to his wife for 12 years, took to social media to disclose the news of the break-up, saying the decision was “unavoidable” and “painful” for him and his wife.
Basketmouth wrote, “As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation.

“After much deliberations, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage.
“As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need.
“We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times. Thank you,” he said.
