Bandits raid Shiroro communities, govt releases names of abducted Kagara students

Armed bandits have again raided some communities in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger Stae including Gurmana Ward.

The attack, which began Wednesday night, is said to be currently on, as no security agent is challenging them at the time of filing this report.

The attack, is coming on the heels of the abduction of some students in the state on Wednesday.

Sani Abubakar Yusuf Kokki, the Co-convener for Concerned Shiroro Youths, disclosed this on Thursday.

He gave the names of other communities affected by the current attack to include, Sarkin-zama, Bakin-Kogi (Lagbe), Siyiko and adjoining villages.

It was however not possible to ascertain the number of casualties as at the time of the report but feelers had it that the people were fleeing the area in their hundreds to neighbouring communities, while those with injuries were being taken to nearby health facilities.

Meanwhile, the Niger State government has released the names of pupils and staff of Government Science College, Kagara in Rafi Local Government Area, Niger State, kidnapped by armed bandits on Wednesday,  February 17, 2021.

Recall that one of the students was killed on the spot by the bandits, while abducting 27 other students; three teaching staff, three non-teaching staff, and 12 members of their families.

Three teaching staff:  Hannatu Philip, Lawal Abdullahi, and Dodo Fodio.

Two non-teaching staff:  Mohammed Musa; and Faiza Mohammed.The third person escaped as they were being led out of the school at about 6am by the bandits.

Some family members kidnapped: Christiana Adama, Faith Adama, Maimuna Suleman, Nura Isah, Ahmad Isah,

Khadizat Isah, Mohammed Mohammed, Aisha Isah, and Saratu Isah.
