The sole Administrator of Tsafe Area Development Council of Zamfara, Tanimu Yanware, has been killed by the armed bandits who abducted him earlier in the year.

Yanware and several other people were kidnapped along the Funtua-Tsafe highway in March while returning from Dandume, a Local Government Council in Katsina State.

According to POLITIC NIGERIA, the politician met his untimely death while trying to escape from the armed bandits’ camp along Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State.

Prior to his death, the late LCDA’s Sole Administrator had spent three months in captivity.

The kidnappers after abducting him had also put a call across to his family demanding a ransom of N20 million for his release.

While this remains one of the high-profile killings in Zamfara State, the North Western state has been battling with insecurity for a while, as bandits and terrorists have made life a living hell for the people of the area.

In November 2021, gunmen suspected to be bandits killed a former governorship aspirant in the 2019 election in Zamfara State, Sagir Hamidu.

He was killed along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway, while returning to Zamfara State.

Despite military fighter jets dropping bombs on the terrorists, they have continued to carry out their nefarious activities in the state.
