Bandits demand N80m ransom on 3 abducted Kogi pastors

The police command in Kogi State confirmed the kidnap of the pastors, saying that it had drafted it’s men to the area to secure the release of the victims.

Bandits have reared their ugly heads in the relatively peaceful Kogi State by abducting three pastors on Friday, June 10. 

The three pastors were said to have been abducted in the Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

According to a reporting by Punch newspaper, the pastors were on their way to a three-day crusade somewhere in the state when the kidnappers intercepted their vehicle along the Ochadamu-Okele-Ejule Road on Friday.

The kidnappers, thereafter, whisked the pastors away to an unknown location. 

The newspaper said a source in the family of one of the pastors, while speaking with its correspondent in Kogi State, said the kidnappers had made contact and demanded N80 ransom.

The police command in the state confirmed the kidnap, saying that it had drafted policemen to the area to secure the release of the victims.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, said, “The command is aware and efforts are on to effect their release.”

kogi State has been relatively peaceful among the North Central States until this abduction.
