The senior pastor of Liberation City, Chris Okafor, has thrown punches at another senior pastor, Tunde Bakare, for what he termed double standards in his approach to President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.
Okafor, in a sermon at his Ojodu church in Lagos, wondered how Bakare would lead a Save Nigeria protest when Jonathan hiked the price of fuel. Buhari has increased the price of fuel thrice and may jerk it up to N400.
Okafor said: “When Jonathan was the President, a pastor like Pastor Tunde Bakare would lead millions of Nigerians to a protest of Save Nigeria Soul. I’m surprised when Nigeria Soul needs to be saved now, Tunde Bakare has not lead Nigerians to say Save Nigeria Soul. Why? Because of whatever they are benefitting from the government, they cannot say Save Nigeria Soul. Shame on Pastor Tunde Bakare.
“What is the offence of Jonathan that this government hasn’t committed? Pastor Tunde Bakare and other radicals closed Ojota to say Save Nigeria. Nigeria needs to be saved now. I’m not afraid of anybody. If we need to for this gospel, we will die. We have come to the level. If we die its profit, if we live, we will continue to prosper the gospel.”
