The Baale said the late singer’s father was in a haste to bury him but he kicked against it

The head of the Gberigbe community in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Oba Kabiru Shotobi has made a shocking revelation amidst the controversy surrounding the death of popular singer, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, aka Mohbad.
According to the Shotobi, who is the Baale (head) of the community the singer hails from in Ikorodu axis of Lagos State, he was the one who prevented the father of the late singer, James Aloba from burying his corpse at midnight.
TheNiche had earlier reported that Mohbad died in controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day in Ikorodu.

The hasty burial sparked outrage among Nigerians, with many berating his family, especially his father for burying the artiste before an autopsy could be carried out.
However, speaking in a now-viral video that made the rounds on social media, the Baale of Gberigbe, Oba Shotobi said it took his intervention to stop the burial of Mohbad in the wee hours that followed the day he died.
He said the deceased’s father wanted to bury him at midnight but he kicked against it.
Speaking in Yoruba, Oba Shotobi said, “Mohbad’s father wanted to bury Mohbad in the midnight of the same day he died. I was the one that stopped him.”
