Aubameyang, has left the UK to join Gabon despite the PL club’s permission to keep African players for the weekend games

Former Arsenal captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has left the club to join Gabon, his national team in Cameroon for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
This suggests the Gabonese captain may not be available for the Gunners’ next five fixtures if his team progresses very well in the competition.
Aubameyang was suspended and stripped of the captaincy of the club by manager Mikel Arteta, as a punishment for returning late to camp after he was permitted to go and see his sick mother.

Arteta, who has refused to discuss Aubameyang’s saga in detail in previous press briefings, has continued to do the same with the clash against Manchester City on New Year’s Day on the horizon, saying the club would “take it game by game”.
Arsenal have picked up a succession of league wins since the 32-year-old last played for the club in the 2-1 loss to Everton on December 6.
However, the player has now left the Emirates to join his Garbonese teammates for AFCON, despite Premier League clubs being granted permission to keep their African stars until after the next round of fixtures.
Aubameyang has not been in the best of form and has scored just 4 Premier League goals this season while Arsenal’s top scorer, Emile Rowe Smith has scored 8 goals.
