Atiku Abubakar has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to use the Lagos Parks Management Committee (LSPMC) headed by Musiliu Akinsanya – also known as MC Oluomo – to distribute election materials in the state.
Oluomo is a known thug who has been under the wings All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu who recruited him during his days as Lagos Governor for election purposes.
Transport operators have complained of how Oluomo uses his agents to extort levies from them daily, which runs into billions of naira per month.
Both Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos governorship candidate Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, and his funning mate Funke Akindele have reported how APC hoodlums are being used by state officials to attack their rallies.
The Labour Party (LP) has also reported its posters being destroyed by APC hirelings and that landlord refuse to rent their properties to the LP in fear of miscreants burning down the buildings to protect Tinubu’s grip on Nigeria’s richest state.
A statement Atiku issued through his Media Assistant Phrank Shaibu warned using Oluomo and the LSPMC to distribute sensitive electoral materials and transport election officials on Election Day could jeopardise the objectives of the election.
Shaibu said Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu banned the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) because its national leadership suspended Oluomo, a loyalist of Tinubu.

Alternatives to LSPMC
Shaibu reiterated Sanwo-Olu also banned the Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) then set up the LSPMC and appointed Oluomo its Chairman so he could have total control of the public transport system in the state, per The Guardian.
“To preserve the sanctity of this election and ensure there is no room for electoral malpractice, INEC must ensure that MC Oluomo is not allowed access to ballot papers. INEC should not make use of the state’s Park Committee.
“Rather, the Commission should reach out to the national leadership of NURTW and or engage the services of any logistic company for the purpose of distributing sensitive electoral materials in Lagos.”
