He went on to state that he visited the two retired army generals to pay “Sallah homage”.

Taking to his verified social media page, Atiku tweeted: “Today, I paid Sallah homage to former Heads of State Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) and Gen. Abdusalami at their residences in Minna, Niger State.”

The meetings came amid reports that the PDP chieftain is preparing grounds for his 2027 presidential ambition.

In May, Atiku vowed to continue contesting for the presidency as long as he’s healthy.

He was also reported to be making moves to form an alliance with Peter Obi, his counterpart from the Labour Party (LP) and other political parties.
