Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has met the 2023 presidential aspirants of the party in Abuja.
Atiku’s meeting with the presidential aspirants is coming barely 24 hours after a similar one with ex-Speakers and presiding officers of the House of Representatives yesterday.
At the meeting with the presidential aspirants, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, and former Senate President Pius Anyim were conspicuously absent.
Among those who attended were Dele Momodu, Tari Oliver, Charles Ugwu, Kalu Chikwendu and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
Atiku at the meeting commended those in attendance for accepting the outcome of the convention that produced him as the PDP standard bearer.

At the presidential primaries in May, Atiku polled 371 votes to defeat his closest rival, Wike, who polled 237 votes.
Following the outcome of the primary, Wike has been at loggerheads with Atiku over the nomination of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as the Vice-Presidential candidate.
