Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has cautioned on the use of state of origin to discriminate against Nigerians, saying no Nigerian is more Nigerian anywhere.
Reacting on the heels of the violence between the Hausa and Yoruba communities in Sasa, Oyo state, Atiku said the idea of the state of origin is secondary in the lives of Nigerians.
He said: “The state of origin of every Nigerian in Nigeria. Nigeria gave birth to the states. The states did not give birth to Nigeria. Every Nigerian state must be 100 per cent for 100 per cent of all Nigerians, 100 per cent of the time. No exception. Therefore, the bloodletting must stop in Sasa, and stop in every other locality,” he said.
