Atiku polled 319, 223 votes in the North East state, while his closest challenger, APC’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu, scored a total of 146, 977 votes

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has won the 2023 presidential election held in Gombe State on Saturday, February 25.
The results of the election released from the 11 local government areas of the State on Sunday night through early Monday morning showed that the PDP candidate polled 319, 223 votes, while his closest rival, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu scored 146, 977 votes.

The Labour Party’s candidate, Peter Obi, and that of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, came distant third and fourth with 26,160 and 10,520 votes respectively.
The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Maimuna Waziri, after reading out the results, declared Atiku winner of the presidential election in the State.
Meanwhile, the former Vice President also defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu in President Muhammadu Buhari’s state, Katsina.
The North West state has always voted by a landslide in support of President Buhari in 2015 and 2019.
However, it was Abubakar who polled a total of 489,045 to edge out Tinubu who scored 482,283 votes and other candidates.
Candidate of the NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, came in at third with 69,386 and was followed by Labour Party flagbearer Peter Obi who secured 6,376 votes.
