Atiku assures Cross River on Bakassi Deep Seaport project

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has promised to execute the Bakassi Deep Seaport and the 164 kilometre super highway projects in Cross River, in partnership with Gov. Ben Ayade if voted into power.
Atiku made the promise on Friday in Calabar during his campaign for the February,16 presidential election.

The former vice president said that Cross River state is blessed  with both human and natural resources.
“What I promise you is that I will also partner the governor in his industrialisation of the state.
“I will partner with him in the area of education as well, because education remains the main pivot of development,” he said.
According to him, if voted into power, his government would harness the abundant resources in the state for the benefit of the youths.
Atiku advised the people of the state to vote for him, protect their votes, and ensure that their votes counted.
The Bakassi Deep-sea port project is one of the many proposed port that is yet to come on stream after a decade of conceiving the initiative to attract modern and bigger vessels into the shores of the country.
Other proposed deep seaports include : Olokola ,Badagry ,Ibaka , Lekki. etc
