Athletics: Madojiemu, Edokpaiye commend organisers of Eyoto U-15 grassroots competition

Just a few days to the commencement of the annual Eyoto U-15 AthIetics Competition in Benin, sports icon and Olympian Princess Mabel Madojiemu and engineer Dele Edokpaiye has commended the organizers for their resilience and commitment to discovering young talents through the competition in Nigeria

Recall that over 700 secondary school students from 50 schools in Benin and it’s environs will participate in the two day intensive competition from December 5-6th in Benin.
Events to feature include 100/200m boys and girls, jumps and throws, 400/800m, etc. Events for the physically challenged will also be showcased.

Madojiemu said in her commendation that the Eyoto Sports Academy through its philanthropic gesture has provided immense opportunities for young talents to hone their talents and excel.

The Edo Sports commission member also noted the huge number of young talents the competition have assisted in the area of scholarships, financial empowerment, talent discovery and general development.

Princess Madojiemu who also sponsors an annual Princess Mabel Madojiemu U-15 athIetics competition in Benin, however called on government to consistently provide and improve sports facilities at the stadium to encourage good performance at the grassroots level.
However, the Chairman, Edo State AthIetics Association Engineer Dele Edokpaiye said he would continue to offer support to improve the performance of young talents.

While commending Eyoto Executives, he noted that now is the time to assist grassroots competition organisers to continue to provide competitions to enable the Youth Talents have competition and improve on their performance.

The stage is set for the competition this weekend at the prestigious Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.

Eyoto Academy Executives led by Chief Dr. Felix Idahosa have arrayed mouthwatering cash prices, trophies, T-shirts, medals etc for awards to deserving winners after track hostilities.
