The President, Muhammadu Buhari has presided over the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
This will be the second meeting that President Buhari chaired since his return from a medical vacation on August 19, 2017.
The President arrived at the Council Chambers of the State House at about 11 am on Wednesday.
Among those in attendance was the Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, who recently generated controversies with her endorsement of former Vice President Atiku Ababakar as president in 2019.
The meeting comes one week after the Presidency cancelled the previous meeting billed to hold last week.
On September 5, the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed, had said that the decision was taken due to inadequate time to prepare the documents for the meeting.
According to the minister, the two-day public holidays declared for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations left little or no time to prepare for the weekly meeting.
