The apex socio-cultural organization in Ohuhu Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, Ohuhu Solidarity Forum, has inaugurated its executive chaired by Okechukwu Ufomadu.
During the swearing in ceremony at Umuda Okpuala Isingwu Hall, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Charles Nzechi, charged the new executive to use their experience to uplift the organization and to develop Ohuhu community.
Nzechi, who is the chairman and managing director of Multiple Travels Nig. Ltd, noted that Ohuhu community has produced intelligent and credible people in Abia State and therefore should not depend solely on the government for development.
“People should learn how to give out to the indigent and contribute to the development of their town. Personally, I give without reservation. My scholarship scheme has touched many lives. I have reconstructed schools for the comfort of our children and has empowered indigent women economically. Those who have should help the poor and that is development,” he said.
In their separate speeches, Chief Sam Ekeledo and Okechukwu Ihedioha JP commended the immediate past leaders of the forum for doing well in office and charged them to further support the present leaders to work and achieve the political and social goals of Ohuhu community.
Responding, the new Chairman of the forum, Okechukwu Ufomadu, on behalf of his new executive, thanked the forum for deeming them fit to lead them and assured that they would not fail to deliver.
According to him, his administration would create a platform that would unite the Ohuhu youths and to attract development.
The new chairman said that he has the plans to establish a community newspaper called Ohuhu Voice that will help showcase the rich cultural heritage of the community and its profile.
