Media personality, Martins Vincent Otse has exposed an alleged attempt by Amarachi Amusi, popularly known as Ashmusy to corner N1 million paid to her by a businessman in Alaba Market for publicity of his building material business.
According to VeryDarkMan, the trader paid N1 million to Ashmusy, a social media influencer to do a video and promote his business on her social media account. The payment was done in October 2023. Eight months later, Ashmusy refused to do the video on the grounds that Alaba Market was too far for her to access from Lekki, according to the audio file of their conversation.
In the audio file, Ashmusy requested additional N1.5 million to do the job, assuring the trader that the promo would earn him over N100 million in sales. The trader declined and requested a refund. But Ashmusy refused, telling the trader to forfeit the money for a ‘fine girl.’
She also told the trader that if he called her out on social media, he would only make her popular. And if he decided to involve the police, she would leave the country.
But after VeryDarkMan exposed her scheme, Ashmusy hurriedly refunded the N1 million to the trader.
Ashmusy’s decision to refund the 1 million naira marks the conclusion of the controversy, highlighting the importance of transparency and accountability within the influencer community.
