Asari Dokubo disappointed in Tinubu ‘supporting Wike to destabilise Rivers’
By Jeffrey Agbo
Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has expressed his disappointment in President Bola Tinubu over his alleged support to the minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to destabilise Rivers State.
Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, has been in a long-running feud with his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, which has increased tension in the oil-rich state.
Dokubo said on Tuesday during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show programme that the president allowed Wike to run amok and procure judgment to destabilise the peace of Rivers State.
The ex-militant said he’s not seeking any personal or selfish interests from President Tinubu.

Dokubo said: “And what is happening in Rivers State where President Ahmed Bola Tinubu is supporting Nyesom Wike to destabilise Rivers State, to disturb the peace of Rivers State.
“And as a stakeholder in Rivers State, I feel disappointed, totally disappointed for the president to allow his minister serving under him to run amok, procure judgement and all sorts, threatening the people of Rivers State because what they are trying to do is, ‘we are going to remove Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and nothing will happen.’
“And I am saying that if you remove Fubara, something will happen. That is it. That is what I’m talking about. I’m not talking of any personal benefit. I cannot be appointed minister.”
Dokubo recently said Tinubu betrayed him after he emptied his account campaigning for the president last year.
