Sequel to the expected hosting of a seamless 8th National Youth Games, Chairman Local Organising Committee (LOC) Evangelist Solomon Ogba urged various Committees to tackle their assignments with zeal as to surpass previous performance.

He said this during the committee’s first meeting at the VIP Lounge of the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

“I encourage every member of this committee to do their best in the roles assigned to them. Delta State has a strong reputation for delivering top performances both on and off the field, and we must continue to uphold this standard, aiming to make this Youth Games even better than previous editions.”

Chief Ogba emphasized the committee’s dedication to maintaining high standards in hosting national sports events. He pointed out that all important areas highlighted by the Joint Technical Meeting (JTM) and the Main Organizing Committee have been fully addressed.

“The facilities for the 36 sports events are ready, and all accommodation arrangements have been finalized, with the hostels prepared to welcome the athletes,” he said.

He urged committee members to work together to meet their goals, reflecting the trust placed in them by the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, who appointed a capable team for this important task.
After reviewing the last edition of the games, the committee promised an even better experience for the upcoming event.

Key members of the Local Organizing Committee present at the meeting included Chief Toniobok Okowa, Chief Chinonye Daffi, Mr. Victor Onogagamue, Mr. Harrison Ocholor, Mr. Onoriode Oborevwori, and the Director General of the Delta State Sports Commission, Mr. Festus Ohwojero.
