In a bid to fulfill the key cardinal objective of taking the Soludo Promoters Forum (SPF) to all the nooks and crannies of the 21 local government areas in Anambra state, the Promoters/Facilitators of the Forum will this Saturday 28, November 2020, in a grand style, unveil the Forum in the famous ancient community of Igbo-Ukwu.
The significance of this inauguration is not lost on the Promoters being the first major community unveiling in the symbolic community of Igbo-Ukwu.
Even as the day draws closer, the Promoters are very upbeat of a successful and hitch-free event that is expected to sensitize and galvanize the people into action.
The elites who are driving this political re-engineering certainly know what is at stake.
The delineated wards is where the political action is. It is the main grassroots and the battle ground in any electoral contest. This is the key focus of SPF. The need for the elites to drive the process of educating and enlightening the grassroot voters to go for the best candidate who can deliver the dividends of democracy to them without qualms!
The era of trading their votes for peanuts is over. The coming into existence of SPF has not only changed elites’ apathy to politics but has now become a platform of enlightenment, sensitization and political education for rural dwellers and those living in the remotest villages.
The Igbo-Ukwu unveiling therefore signals a great advancement into the communities, villages and Hamlets for our rural folks who constitute the vast majority of the grassroot voters.
Igbo-Ukwu as a rural setting, holds so many great potentials aside from its symbolic nature and historic antecedents as the epic centre of bronze making in the entire eastern region of Nigeria.
History, indeed, recorded that the inhabitants of the Ancient Igbo-Ukwu community had a metalworking art that have flourished as early as the ninth century.
It was also recorded that three sites have been excavated, which revealed some stunning findings of hundreds of ritual vessels and regalia casting of bronze or leaded bronze that are said to be among the most inventive and technically accomplished bronzes ever made by mankind.
Igbo-Ukwu is therefore a ‘goldmine’ ready to be fully explored and developed when the right visionary leaders are voted into political offices.
With such great potentials at Igbo-Ukwu, and great inhabitants, the future looks good and promising with the formal unveiling of the Soludo Promoters Forum in that community this weekend.
It is on this note that we must commend the coordinator of the event, Chief Amaechi C. Umeh, who has assured all the sons and daughters of Igbo-Ukwu including invited guests of a resounding and successful outing come this Saturday.
And equally the host, Sir Chukwudi Iloh, whose abode will host the grand event at Ihuakaba, Ezihu Igbo-Ukwu, commencing by 12 noon prompt. He has also said the symbolic event signals the beginning of greater things that will come the way of the community in the nearest future.
The Igbo-Ukwu Regent, Chief Mike Nduka (Oji 3) will be the father of the day.
The event will also parades other super heavyweights of the SPF Promoters/Facilitators which include Mr Joe Anatune, Chief Strategist/National Coordinator of the Forum; Barrister Leo Chiegboka, Mr Andy Okafor, Nze Eze-Omenyiliora Osuokwu, Mr Arinze Okamelu, Prof Romanus Ezeokonkwo, Prof Okey Ikeanyibe, Dr Charles Udeogu, Arch Amobi Nwafor and many others.
