According to Duro Ikujenyo of The New Age Productions, the highly anticipated show will run from 8pm to 11pm and feature live music, Afrobeat, jazz, highlife and spoken word.

“To perform will be Duro Ikujenyo (Afrobeat sage) and Age of Aquarius, Wale Ojo (Nigerian popular actor, singer and playwright), Aditya Challaram (alto saxophone player), Mendo Hakeem (spoken word star),” Ikujenyo stated.

Workers, he said, are the pillar, human energy, power of construction, medium and structure of development of society and nation.

He explained that their plight and input are the catalyst for the growth of Nigeria, Africa and the world, and that it was sad that the Nigerian could be hired and paid better by his European counterpart – one doing the same job.

“Today, there is no comparison between the wages and working conditions in Africa and those of Europe and America,” he said.

He explained that it is for this reason he and the aforementioned performers would like to take this very important day to celebrate work, freedom and liberty of the artisan, worker and the working class in Nigeria, Africa and globally.
