Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has told his summer recruit, Kai Havertz, to keep trying after he had another night to forget at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday Night.

Arteta gave the advice while comparing Havertz’s early days at the North London club to his challenge of getting a wife after the Gunners came from behind to beat Manchester United 3-1.

The Germany international is yet to find his feet at Arsenal since joining from Chelsea over the summer and despite the win on Sunday, he was guilty of giving away the ball that led to the first goal against his team and he also missed a sitter.

However, despite his poor display and the frustration from fans, Arteta has continued to praise and encourage Havertz.

Speaking after the win, the Spanish tactician told the German international that nothing good comes easily, saying even “Getting my wife to marry me was difficult”

Asked about Havertz’s performance,
Arteta told Sky Sports, “I said to him yesterday, things are a little bit hard at the beginning.

“When I met my wife at the beginning, it was hard to conquer her.

“I had to try, and message, and go and go and when she said ‘yes I want to be together’, then it’s beautiful.

“If she said yes on the first day then it’s not that great, so it’s good. I think the crowd was really good with him today.”

Arsenal win again the Red Devils take them to the 5th position on the log table, picking up 12 points from 4 games.

Man United, on the other hand, are now 11th on the table, after losing two and winning 2 of their 4 matches.
