Gabriel Martinelli got another red card which makes it Arsenal’s fourth of 2022, but their win stops the rot of five games without a victory

Gabriel scored the only goal of the match but his teammate Gabriel Martinelli was given an unusual red card as Arsenal beat Wolves 1-0 for their first win of 2022.
The Brazilian defender tapped in from close range, a flick-on from his captain, Alexandre Lacazette in the 25th minute to put the visitors 1-0 ahead.
The goal is the only first-half goal the stingy defence of Wolves have conceded in the Premier League since October.

Gunners forward Gabriel Martinelli was, however, dismissed in the second half for two bookings shown at the same time for infringements seconds apart – stopping a throw-in and a foul on Chiquinho.
The home side had the better chances after the red card, with Lacazette shooting wide on one occasion, but Arsenal held on to claim an important win and extend the gap between them and Wolves to 5 points.
Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale denied Romain Saiss and Leander Dendoncker while Chiquinho had a shot blocked on the line.
With their first win in six games, Arsenal leapfrog United and are now 5th on the log table, they also denied eighth-placed Wolves the chance of a fourth league win in a row.
