Arsenal’s season began with three defeats, which landed them at the bottom of the league table, after three Premier League (PL) games.
The Gunners have since turned things around, although the two draws away to Brighton Hove Albion and Crystal Palace remain a concern for fans.
After goals from Calum Chambers and Eddie Nketiah sent Arsenal through to the quarter-finals of the Carabo cup, the club has now gone eight unbeaten in all competitions.
Mikel Arteta’s side have now won six games and drawn two, keeping four clean sheets in the process.
Ben White was singled out for praise by Arsenal fans in the Carabo Cup win against Leeds United.
A lot of them took to their Twitter accounts to praise his exploits and say good things about him during and after the game.
@PrivArsenal_Z said: “Ben White on the ball is uncontested apart from probably VVD (Virgil Van Dijk) and a few others. I have to admit I was damn wrong on him”
Quim Wei Lim supported him saying: “Ben White is a Rolls Royce of a CB. Mandem were trying to convince me he was a shit buy “
@ average ramsdale appreciator also added: ” Also I don’t wanna be one of those ‘Tv football doesn’t count’ wankers, but seeing Ben White play in person has absolutely flipped the switch on him for me. The confident aura he exudes is absolutely insane”
There were, however, reports that the defender hobbled off the pitch after the game, and a lot of Arsenal fans were concerned he might not be available for their next PL fixture against Leicester.
Gunners gaffer allayed this fear in his post-match comment, saying it was just a bug and not a serious injury, as speculated.
“There is a bug going on, we lost Pablo (Mari) today as he wasn’t feeling great & Ben(White) had it as well in the last day or two. He wasn’t feeling great, so we decided to take him off,” he said.
The 24-year-old, Ben White, was bought from Brighton & Hove Albion, for a record £50 million for a defender in the 2020/2021 summer transfer.
