National Patriotic Support North and South Indigenes for All Progressives Congress (NPSNSI) has urged fellow citizens to back President Muhammadu Buhari in his juggernaut probe of those who allegedly diverted the $2 billion arms budget.
NPSNSI founder and National Co-coordinator, Bright Obasi-Mbaise, said going by the sums involved and the confessions, it is clear that Abuja is not witch-hunting the opposition or selective in the battle against greed and graft, Nigeria’s national disease.
He wondered how the money meant for the purchase of arms to fight terrorism was diverted to the provision of information.
None of the accused persons has denied involvement in the alleged looting, Obasi-Mbaise noted, but are rather giving frivolous reasons why they collected part of the money.
He implored all Nigerians not to be sentimental or biased because everyone can see Buhari as a God send president to clean up Nigeria and revamp the economy.
What is happening, he stressed, is a total revolution in the fight to end corruption as Buhari promised during the election campaign.
“Everybody should put party, tribe, religion and ethnicity behind him and support the president and his team so that the change we all need will finally be achieved.
“The whole scenario shows that funds amounting to millions of dollars and euros that belong to all of us were looted by those who saw themselves as smart and clever individuals of the moment,” he said.
