Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has ordered that promotion exams for deserving personnel of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Fire Service, NSCDC and Nigerian Correctional Service should also be conducted in states, not just in Abuja alone.

A statement issued by the Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations in the ministry, Afonja Ajibola, said on Tuesday that the minister gave the directive when he visited Saascon International School computer-based test (CBT) centre, Abuja.

Aregbesola said that the centre being used for the exams by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board was too crowded and would not give the exercise the integrity needed.

The centre is being used by the board to conduct promotion exams for the four services under it.

The ministry’s spokesman said Aregbesola observed that exams in such a crowded environment would not give the process the needed integrity it deserved.

Aregbesola, therefore, ordered the Secretary of the board, Aisha Rufa’i, to henceforth conduct the promotion exams in various states of the federation.

Aregbesola said there are CBT centres across the states that can be used for seamless conduct of the exams.

He, however, commended the board for introducing CBT for the exercise which had added credibility to the process.
