Aramide, Afro-soul diva and Baseline Entertainment recording artiste, has released the video to her latest single titled, ‘Iwo Nikan’.
Shot and directed in Lagos, Nigeria by cinematographer, Tosin Igho, the video is produced by Laitan Dada.
Aramide, who discovered the talents of singing and writing as a teenager and decided to nurture them, effortlessly delivers a quality flow synonymous with what has come to be expected of her in the video.
After secondary school, she learnt to play the saxophone and guitar, two instruments she is quite passionate about.
While studying political science at the University of Jos (UNIJOS) in Plateau State, Aramide participated in the Star Quest talent hunt show, making her part of a band that emerged third runners up. Her ever-growing solo career took off shortly after graduation.
She sings about love, betrayal, friendship, trust and the attendant joys and aches of womanhood. Her musical influences include music greats like Erykah Badu, Miriam Makeba, Sade and Angelique Kidjo.
Nominated by the Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA) in the category for Most Promising Female Act to Watch 2013, her approach to song-writing and her soft but deep and powerful voice stand her out.
