Despite the court ruling on Wednesday, ordering the return of People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s Obiora Okonkwo as Senator representing Anambra Central District, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Victor Umeh who is at the centre of the nullification has said the ruling is a joke.

An Abuja High Court presided over by Justice John Tsoho ordered the immediate return of Okonkwo as the senator representing the Anambra Central Senatorial District.

Justice Tsoho gave the ruling on Wednesday after counsel to other parties, mainly PDP mmbers in the matter withdrew their arguments against the plaintiff.

The judge said he was inclined to grant the request sort by the plaintiff because all the defendants indicated that they had no objection to the suit.

The defendants who consented to the claims sort by Okonkwo are the PDP; its former chairman, Adamu Muazu; INEC; and Uche Ekwunife, a former senator and former member of the PDP.
But speaking with TheNiche on Wednesday, Umeh described the ruling as a joke and madness of the highest order.
He said all the cases relating to the Anambra Central District had been decided by the Appeal Court which said fresh election should be held in 90 days, and that a lower court lacks the locus standi to decide against the decision of a court of superior jurisdiction on election matters, particularly when a matter progressed to the Appeal court from the lower court.
Umeh who is billed to flag off his reelection campaign on Thursday, Decdember 14 said all arrangements for the flag off are in place, and that the people of the district are upbeat about the flag off that would culminate in them electing their choice of representative at the senate.
