APC was declared the winner of the Central and South Senatorial Districts of Delta State, while the PDP won in the Northern Senatorial District

The candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have won two of the three senatorial seats in Saturday’s National Assembly election held in Delta State.
In the Delta Central Senatorial District, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer Prof. Ezekiel Agbalagba, announced Ede Dafinone as the winner at the INEC Collation Centre in Ughelli.
According to him, Dafinone of the APC polled 109,197 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ighoyota Amori, who scored 101,385 votes to come second.

The INEC returning officer also announced that the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Peter Omaruaye, scored 17,523 to come a distant third.
In Delta South Senatorial District, another APC candidate, Joel Thomas, also emerged as the senator-elect after scoring a total of 49,955 votes.
Thomas, who was the former Chairman of Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, was officially declared winner of the election by the INEC Returning Officer for Delta South Senatorial election, Prof Peretimina Anthony, at the Otobo Hall, Delta South Collation Centre in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area.
He defeated his closest rival, Hon Michael Diden of the PDP who got 47,656 votes.
Meanwhile, Ned Nwoko of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) had earlier been declared as the winner of Delta North Senatorial.
Announcing the result in Oshimili south LGA on Monday, Josephine Okeakwa, returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), said Nwoko polled 92,514 votes from the nine LGAs of Delta north to defeat his closest rival, Kennedy Kamma of the Labour Party (LP) who polled 86,121 votes.
