APC picks Mbu as acting Cross River chairman

Matthew Mbu has been appointed acting All Progressives Congress (APC) Cross River State chairman by the Caretaker/Extra Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee headed by Yobe State Governor, Mai Buni.

The decision was taken on Tuesday at a meeting the committee held with Cross River APC stakeholders over the factional dispute in the state chapter.

Attendees at the meeting at the APC national secretariat in Abuja included Committee Secretary, John Akpanudoedehe, Minister of State for Power, Goddy Jedy-Agba, Senators Victor Ndoma Egba, John Owan Enoh, Matthew Mbu, and Bassey Out.

A statement issued by APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, said Akpanudoedehe stressed the need for all present to come to an amicable resolution, in order to prepare the party for the coming elections in Cross River.

Mbu was unanimously mandated to assume the office of state APC chairman, a decision approved by the National Convention Planning Committee.

Others who attended the meeting included Larry Odey, Usani Usani, Ntufam Eta, Godwin John, Akin Ricketts, Mary Eta, Eteyen Umanah, Odey Ochicha, Wabilly Nyiam, Adie Ferdinand, John Odey, Alex Egbona, John Ochala, Phillip Obin, and Bassey Nkposong.
