Having survived yet another plot to oust him from office, the All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, must be beside himself with joy.

It was the second time in less than three months that forces failed to boot him out of office.

This time, he was saved by the personal intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari when he summoned an emergency meeting with APC Governors on Monday, after which the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting where forces were waiting to oust Oshiomhole already scheduled for Tuesday, was called off indefinitely.

Hours later, the Court of Appeal, Abuja stayed execution of the March 4, 2020 order of a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) restraining Oshiomhole from further acting as national chairman.

Having survived the plot, an emboldened Oshiomhole has called for a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to hold on the same day he was supposed to be formally sacked as the national chairman.

A statement by the national publicity secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, which was sent to TheNiche said the NWC meeting will hold on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the party’s National Secretariat by 12 noon.

“All members of the NWC are expected to attend as important matters concerning the party will be considered and deliberated at the meeting,” the statement said.

“Recall that a Court of Appeal on Monday stayed the execution order of a High Court restraining the APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, from further acting in that capacity,” it concluded.
