David Umahi and Ben Ayade were originally elected governors under the platform of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before joining the ruling party, APC.
Meanwhile, Wike, who is the PDP G5 arrowhead, recently declared he will neither campaign nor vote for his party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, because he disregarded the electoral value of his state.
Wike said Atiku has shown by his actions that he does not need his (Wike’s) support as Rivers PDP leader or that of state PDP members as presidential candidates step up their campaigns.
