The All Progressives Congress (APC) has voiced its support for what it calls President Bola Tinubu’s bold and far-reaching reforms, emphasizing their significance for Nigeria’s economic recovery, sustainable growth, and prosperity.
In response to the recent call by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors for Tinubu to step down amid perceived hardships, Mr. Felix Morka, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, asserted that such demands were unwarranted.
Morka highlighted the principle of shared responsibilities among the three tiers of government in a federal system like Nigeria’s, emphasizing the need for collaboration and coordination. He criticized the PDP governors for their seemingly doomsday rhetoric, accusing them of shirking their responsibilities and resorting to blame games rather than providing constructive solutions.
The APC spokesman cautioned against reckless utterances that could incite social upheaval and noted that governors, like all citizens, were entitled to free speech but must exercise it responsibly. He rebuffed comparisons of Nigeria to Venezuela, arguing that such analogies were disproportionate given the challenging economic and security context.

Morka pointed out the irony in PDP governors calling for Tinubu’s resignation while deflecting responsibility for their states’ challenges. He urged them to focus on their roles as chief executives and utilize the resources at their disposal for the betterment of their citizens.
Morka urged the PDP governors to practice what they preached by resigning if they believed they could not fulfill their duties effectively. Despite acknowledging the transient difficulties faced by Nigerians, Morka affirmed Tinubu’s commitment to taking responsibility and providing leadership during this historic period of economic transformation. The APC called for patience from the public, expressing confidence that the administration’s policies would yield positive results, ultimately leading to a more prosperous future for the nation.
