Admission by the All Progressives Alliance (APC) that it has failed to deliver vindicates the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the opposition party claims, even though its own woeful record led to the election of Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
The PDP says the “confession” by APC leaders at a youth conference in Abuja that their party and Buhari has not performed well vindicates the view of the PDP that the ruling party will be voted out in 2023 “without any legacy.”
A statement issued by PDP National Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, dismissed attempt by Senate President Ahmed Lawan to blame the failure of the APC on a rift between Aso Rock and the National Assembly (NASS).
The PDP described the attempt as “a despicable juvenile excuse for the incompetence and corruption that weigh down the Buhari administration.”
It insisted that now that APC leaders have summoned the courage to admit that the part and Buhari are “a bunch of failures” that have caused so much harm, they should advise Buhari to stop his false performance claims.
Buhari should also seek help from more competent hands to manage the affairs of the country, the PDP counselled.
The confession is stating the obvious as Buhari and the APC have wrecked “our once robust economy and turned our nation to a beggar country and the poverty capital of the world,” the PDP said.
“The APC has excelled in superintending over the escalation of violence and acts of terrorism which have turned our nation into a large killing field under its watch.
“Under Buhari, corruption has been elevated as a new normal, with officials pillaging ministries, department and agencies and looting over N15 trillion, while mortgaging the future of our nation with reckless foreign borrowing.
“APC leaders should be bold to tell Buhari and the APC that posterity will not be kind to them for their manifest misrule, which has brought so much devastation to our nation.
“By 2023, history would have listed the Buhari Presidency and the APC as a calamitous era as well as that wind that blew no good in the life of our nation.
The PDP said APC leaders have admitted that the party is already heading to “the dustbin of ignominy” as it cannot survive after the Buhari tenure.
It urged Nigerians to “keep hope alive” as they continue to rally “on the platform of the PDP” to rescue the nation from the misrule of the APC.
