Anyaoku, Remi Tinubu, Awele Elumelu, Owen Omogiafo to receive national awards

Also billed to receive national awards are the former governors of Osun and Ogun, Bisi Akande and Segun Osoba respectively.

Former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Emeka Anyaoku, and Senator Remi Tinubu have been billed to receive national awards.

Anyaoku will be conferred with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) while Tinubu will be honoured with the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).

Awele Elumelu, co-founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), will get the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).

Mrs Elumelu is the chairperson of Avon Medical Practice Limited. She is also the chairperson of Avon Healthcare Limited and oversees the healthcare investments of Heirs Holdings.

She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Benin. Her experience as a medical doctor includes medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology and emergency medicine.

In Nigeria, Elumelu has worked with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) and, in the UK, with Grantham and District Hospital, Grantham.

Also, President of Transcorp Group, Owen Omogiafo, will be honoured with the Order of the Niger (OON).
